Ancient China VS Modern China

Today for my essay I will be talking about the Zhou Dynasty and Mao Zedong and will be comparing how they are alike.

The Zhou people started out as allies to the Shang Dynasty. They believed in the mandate of heaven and once they thought the Shang were ruling poorly, they overthrew their king and the Shang Dynasty died off.

Like the Zhou people, Mao Zedong too was a revolutionary. Mao Zedong was in the army when he was younger and overthrew the Qing dynasty. When he was the leader of China he lost his power than for a time and fought to regain it again later. Both of these leaders overthrew a dynasty. In addition, even though Mao Zedong didn’t believe in the mandate of heaven personally, its philosophy held true when he lost his power. When he didn’t do as good for his country he lost power than he became more righteous he gained it back.
